The mBuild LED Dot Matrix Screen is a dot matrix display module in the mBuild ecosystem by Makeblock. It is designed to display text, numbers, symbols, and simple animations for robotics and STEM education projects.
The module works with controllers such as CyberPi and mBot2 and can be programmed using mBlock with both block-based coding and Python.
LED dot matrix display (commonly 8×8 or 8×16 depending on model)
Supports scrolling text
Displays icons, numbers, and custom patterns
High brightness for clear visibility
Plug-and-play connection via mBuild port
Some models support cascading multiple displays
Displaying messages on robots
Showing scores or sensor data
Creating small LED signage
Producing simple animations for coding lessons
The LED dot matrix consists of multiple LEDs arranged in rows and columns. By controlling each LED individually through a microcontroller, it can form characters, symbols, or animated patterns.
